Radio Interview with Angela Brent-Harris…..author of LOVE DOESN’T DIE~

Here is an excerpt from Love Doesn’t Die that I want to share with you especially how I got the nick name Chirpie from my dad , page 37……   “As I became older, I saw a lot of my father in myself. I always thought that I was rich, not in monetary wealth but in being content. I was happy with who I was despite the problems and obstacles along the way. I would be thankful for family, to have a roof over my head, clothes to wear, food to eat and a job and that was all that mattered. I became more spiritually aware as I got older. I connected with my Dad in that sense too. I grew up in the Catholic Religion but in my late thirties, I became interested in Buddhism, heights of meditation, aromatherapy, and the healing effect of crystals. I didn’t take these spiritual teachings lightly; I began to learn more by studying about my curiosities and later became a Reiki Master and a Crystal(Chakra) Healer.

I shared this with my Dad, but he would only smile and just say that I was just beginning spiritually. He would say, “Chirpie, before I leave this earth, I will teach you all you need to know”. My dad called me Chirpie, because he said that I was always happy-go-lucky, and that I never seemed to be bothered by anything. He compared me to being a happy little bird chirping and soaring through the sky.”

Are You Consciously Aware Of How Your Thoughts and Emotions Are Translated Into Energy?

feeling placedetach3

Today, be aware of the energy you are projecting. Be aware of its effect on others and its effect on you. You are, at all times, projecting an aura of energy that affects your health, your attitude and the way others perceive you and react to you.

If you are overly critical of others, you will be surrounded by critics. If you are judgmental, you will be surrounded by judges. If you are overreacting emotionally, you will live in a world of drama. If, on the other hand, you are peaceful and centered, caring and compassionate, you will find that the others around you calm down and move into a more peaceful state along with you.

Today, be consciously aware of your thoughts and emotions and how they are translated into energy. Then take your energy out of your mind and center it in your heart and your solar plexus. Find there the light that is burning, the storehouse of energy that you are generating. Then open and allow yourself to glow.

From your center, glow with peace and a deep understanding of your personal truth. This is who you are and you can learn to project it out energetically. And from your heart, glow with love. Take your truth and move it through love, compassion and tolerance before presenting your truth to the world.

Consciously cease reflecting energy from others and instead move to your own storehouse of self-generated energy. You will find that the supply is endless. And the more energy you project from these centers, the more powerful and energetic you will feel. The more you glow from within, the less exhausted you will be from trying to fend off other energies you do not care for. Make your glow so strong, that you are never concerned with what others project. You are glowing with self and truth, love and peace, and it is enough.

• Pause and notice the feel of the space around you.

• Let your awareness expand outwards as far as you please, sensing more and more of the different qualities of energy that make up your world.

• Notice the many different kinds of feeling and the different qualities of energy that make up the being that you are.

• Now sense or imagine yourself as a presence of light in a world of light.

• Observe how your light interacts with this world of light.

• Notice how you can play with your light to enhance your own experience and to add to the beauty of the world. Notice the feelings that come as you do this.

• Ask yourself how you might express those feelings in the outer world and notice the answers that come.

Are you putting off feeling good about yourself?

 feeling place

Hmmmmm……..I do not put off feeling good about myself…. I reject the notion that I can only feel good about myself once I have the right relationship, the good job, the dream house or the sports car. I recognize that I can feel good about myself right now because I can feel the richness of my own heart. SO many of us put off feeling good about ourselves until later. We believe that we can only feel good when we have the right relationship, the career, the money, the nice house, the sports car… and not before.

How can we feel good when we are not in a romantic relationship?

And don’t talk to me about feeling good when I do not have enough money in the bank to pay for my food next week, let alone a vacation.

How can I feel good when my car is clapped out and my house is not as good as those of my work colleagues?

Just how could I possibly feel good because I cannot get a decent job?

But we need so much to feel good about ourselves right now.

It does not matter what we have, it is enough to know that we have the beauty and truth and goodness of ourselves… and that is something to really feel good about.

And when we have this energy of feeling good about ourselves…. loving ourselves unconditionally……we attract into our lives all those things that we do not now believe we lack.

OK we might not have the great relationship or job or living environment… but this does not mean all of this is not on its way.

It does not mean we don’t deserve this or will never get this……. sometime soon.

The more we focus our attention on not having this or that the more we will bring about the experiences of not having, of lacking or being deprived of.

But when we turn our focus and attention to just how good we are, just how abundant we are, and how while we might not have the money in the bank the real treasure is the love that is in our heart then we draw into our lives all the physical expressions of what is contained in our heart.

And we bring into our lives the money we need as well as the relationship we need to fulfill our life purpose. We live in an abundant universe.

And we bring into our lives that which we are… in other words, that which we feel about ourselves and that which we believe is true of ourselves.

If we want more money we have to see ourselves as rich in all aspects of life, which is true.

If we want the dream relationship, then we have to believe we are worthy and so desirable that people will be queuing at our door.

And as we thinketh, so it becomes true for us.

This is not a cliche.

It is the truth of the universe.

Like attracts like.

So rich people attract rich things.

Loving people attract loving people.

People who feel good about themselves bring into their lives things that are good.

And, unfortunately, the opposite is true also.

We need to feel good about ourselves because there is so much good in us.

We do not need something outside of us to suddenly feel good.

If we believe that getting married would complete us, then it might be once we are married we will then need something else to complete us……. and we will never be satisfied and always feeling that we lack things. But the moment we decide to feel good about ourselves because we are here, our life changes.

Why not feel good about the miracle that you are?

Why not feel good about the fact that you were created to be on this planet in this time to love and be loved… which is the truth, of course?

Instead of focusing on what we have not got, what we have not achieved, what we might never have, let us now turn out thinking to just what we have got, what we have achieved and what we will most certainly have… that is, if we abandon this negative thinking!

We can make quite a list.

The positive list in all of our lives will outweigh the negative even if we seem mortified or unduly focused on the gloomy side of life.

OK things could be better… but then they could be a lot worse.

And it is a great idea not to put off feeling good about yourself…….. give yourself a hug right now and proclaim…………….I am the BEST ME!

You won’t be wrong!

Caught Up In the Rapture of My Heart Beat~

drum-circleDrumming-Circle

Yesterday was spontaneous and extra-ordinary for me. I started with my usual meditation, affirmations, mantras, and declaration to the Divine one. I relished twenty minutes of Tai Chi, and ate breakfast. I set out in the afternoon to meet-up with my friend Chrissy to do some school work. She made a healthy fare of grilled chicken breast with a medley of medium sized diced avocado, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, drizzled with homemade balsamic vinaigrette. We discussed our love of teaching and shared touching stories about our loving students. It was dreamlike! Then Chrissy said, “Hey, let’s go to that park that you often told me about, your secret hideaway where you meditate sometimes and find peace and serenity.” I thought that was a brilliant idea and in no time we left happily and I drove us to my place of bliss.

Chrissy loved it…..she was enthralled with the nature and wild life! The added bonus was the multihued sunset at 7:30pm. The day’s mystique didn’t end there. Chrissy was game for an impulsive evening. We took the scenic route along the sea side to return home, and then I went with the flow and drove unprompted into one of my favorite parks along the coast. I am glad we did. We saw some people unpacking drums and musical instruments from their cars and we became curious. I even got a chance to hit one of the drums while they were walking down the stairs to the beach. The man holding one of the drums felt my curiosity and asked if I wanted to hit it and went on to say, “Don’t be scared.” Then I answered lightheartedly, “Ooooh no….I am merry to hit the drum!”…….and I hit a little beat on the drum.

We shared a laugh after realizing that he was also a fellow Jamaican and we shared a short conversation in Jamaican patois.

Chrissy and I decided to hurry and pay for parking, and then followed the sound of sweet pulsating music that led us to the group of people onto the beach. Their attire was numinous, and their smiles glowed as bright as the brilliant new moon in the nighttime sky. WOW!!! The music resonated with the core of my soul. I was excited and drawn to the music. The leader or facilitator nodded with acceptance when he saw my eagerness to be a part of the circle of powerful, communal, and beautiful display of sight and sound. I was given a pair of drum sticks and I wasted no time in starting to create music with the three drums before me. Chrissy was smiling as she sat on the sand along the captivating sea shore as she loosened her ponytail and her hair fell loosely to her shoulders. She nodded with approval as I chuckled like a little girl. The drums drew my energy and unified me into a consolidated force. I tried to alternate the tempo of the drums as the participants made up the music as they went along. I used my listening skills to make musical connections and expressed myself in all the ways that felt right. I had a hunger of oneness……I can’t even explain it as I became lost in a meditational rhythmical trance on an enchanting path of consciousness. I played for almost two hours as the cool sea breeze caressed my face and tousled my hair. I felt good as I glistened with sweat, and moved my body in harmony to the pulsating musical sounds. We seemed to make up the music as we went along, using our listening and playing skills to make musical links. It was all voluntary with drumming, singing, chanting, dancing, and listening. There was pure equality……no heads, no tails. I LOVED it! My soul was captivated.

It was a transformation through rhythm, drumming, and consciousness………an opportunity for people of like minds to unite for the realization of a shared objective of rhythm to be in tune with each other and ourselves. Then my soul realized it was time to bid adieu and Namaste, so I bestowed my gratitude, and when Chrissy and I were ready to leave…..one of the participants, (a beautiful earth-angel) gave us a card. Lo and behold, the moderator who shaped this remarkable experience through his discrete actions with helping to maintain a steady beat, and helped to manage the environment to see that everyone was able to participate fully……. is Dr. George Xavier Love. Creator of 5 Love Transformations: Emotional (Mastery, Movement, Food Therapy, Sex Therapy and Immuno-Therapy). Chinese Medicine, Ear Reflexology and Qigong. Creator of 7 day Juice Feast & 21 Days to Wellness in 1993, and Psycho-puncture.

Hmmmmm……how interesting and magical is that? It’s amazing how souls paths are meant to cross of shared understandings in life.

Now I have discovered a new and added desire from a night of pure enchantment…….. Drum Circle Rhythms! Namaste!
